Homeschooling

In 2008, when our oldest daughter was 8 years old, we took the deep dive into homeschooling. She had been in public school but she was not flourishing. We looked at all our options and decided that homeschooling was our best option. We did a "trial period" over the summer between her 2nd and 3rd grade years, which went well and in the fall we withdrew her. It wasn't easy, nor did we see major progress right away, but over time, we started to see improvements in her academic ability and her mental wellness. When the time came, we also decided to homeschool our two younger children. We've been homeschooling ever since. Our children have now all graduated and are pursing degrees in their respective fields of Psychology, Meteorology and Climatology, and Professional Flight.

Over these 15 years, I've learned so much. It was not just an education for them, In the beginning, I consumed every book, blog, and resource I could get my hands on to try to understand this completely different way of education and life. These resources were indispensable to me. Now it is my turn to share with you what I have learned and encourage the next generation of homeschoolers.
